RADLEY’S Osman Muskwe is hoping to represent Zimbabwe at the London Olympics after finishing fourth in the decathlon at the England Athletics Combined Events Championships.

Muskwe, 26, scored 6,780 points in Bedford to break his own Radley record, despite a headwind affecting some of his performances.

He recorded personal bests in the shot putt (13.66m), which was also a club record, 400m (50.92secs) and 110m hurdles (16.09).

Muskwe now hopes this score will be enough to represent Zimbabwe at the London 2012.

Clubmate Rosie Kingston, 19, finished 12th in the ladies’ heptathlon, setting personal bests in the shot (7.56m), javelin (16.90), 200m (28.55secs) and 800m (2.49).

Kingston amassed 3,307 points, which was a best by 500 and places her second in the midland region.

l TARA Kafke continued her fine early season form by running another personal best in the 400m – this time by 0.7secs.

The Radley athlete, who was making her debut for new first-claim club Shaftesbury Barnet Harriers, clocked 54.51secs during the UK Women’s Athletics League Division 1 meeting at Cardiff.

Kafke’s time was a second inside the mark needed to compete in the Great Britain Olympic trials, while she also helped Shaftesbury to both 4x100m and 4x400m relay wins.

This weekend, Kafke will compete in the England Athletics National Championships in Birmingham.
