CHRIS Goodfellow edged to victory in race 12 of the Oxonian CC summer time trial series on Wednesday.
The perfect conditions and fast course on the A40 at Witney combined for some excellent times.
Goodfellow, representing host club Oxford City RC, was the fastest of the 48 riders, clocking 21mins 1sec to win by ten seconds.
Malcolm Rose (Oxonian) smashed his personal best by more than a minute to take second place, seven seconds ahead of Fairly United CT’s Mark Cox.
The ladies’ race was less closely fought, with Claire Vallance (Oxford City RC) finishing in 25mins 11 secs.

Men’s race: 1 C Goodfellow (Oxford City RC) 21 mins 1sec, 2 M Rose (Oxonian) 21.11, 3 M Cox (Fairly United CT) 21.18.
Ladies’ race: 1 C Vallance (Oxford City RC) 25.11, 2 W Gundry (Oxonian) 26.31, 3 I Anson (Oxonian) 28.41.
