Serious Cricket Home Counties Premier League

SIMON Hole is relishing Shipton-under-Wychwood’s first Home Counties Premier League derby when they visit Aston Rowant in Division 2 West tomorrow.

Unbeaten Shipton have made a great start to life in the higher league and now captain Hole and his side have a chance to impress against Oxfordshire opponents.

Hole, who has made a century and two fifties in his three innings so far, said: “It would be nice to keep going the way we have been.

“My start could have been worse. It is going well, but everybody is doing their job at the moment.

“It is not all about me.”

Joe Barrett is added to the Shipton squad.

Magdalen College School teacher Nick Ferraby and captain Andrew Tolson come in for Rowant, who have lost three of their opening four matches.

Leigh Lewis and Ryan Chapman miss out from the side that lost to Dinton.

Skipper Wesley Morrick said: “Andrew has been getting a few runs for his school, so we thought we would give him a go in the first team.

“We are almost back to full strength.

“We are starting to get there. We just need a bit of luck.”

Thame Town have named an unchanged side to host in-form Dinton, who have secured three wins from three starts.

Captain Mike Higgs said: “Dinton have got off to a bit of a flying start. It is going to be a good test.

“But we are in a good run of form and are starting to bat better.”
