Gary Harris continued his winning streak at Worminghall on Sunday as he led the field home at the Lidl Headington 10K by more than 30 seconds.

Harris crossed the line in 33mins 3secs - a minute and a half faster than last year's race.

After a fast start, he had been neck-and-neck with second-claim Headington runner Steve Kimber until just over halfway, when he started to pull away.

However, it was only in the last 750m that Harris's superior finishing pace saw him to victory.

Former Oxford University cross country team captain Alan Chetwynd, also running for Headington, was third, with Julien Lhomme completing the top four.

The team prize comfortably went to Headington, with Vasili Zverev and Andy Phelps making up the winning team.

Zverev was seventh to win the vet 40 category, while Oxford City's Roy Treadwell was first in the vet 60 section.

In the women's race, Emma Patel (Winchester) set a new course record to win in 37.31, with Headington's Tracy Galbraith third, which landed her the vet 35 prize.

Angela Banks (Alchester) won the vet 45 section, and Hook Norton Harrier Dee Hailey landed the vet 55 prize.

Abingdon Amblers' trio of Wendy Miell-Ingram, Lizzie Gottwald and Patrica Wilson secured the ladies' team award.
