Oxford City’s Hannah England put up a bold show to finish a creditable third for Great Britain in the women’s 1,500m at the Aviva British Grand Prix at Gateshead.
The 22-year-old burst through to chase Great Britain teammate and world championship silver medallist Lisa Dobriskey coming round the home bend, before fading on the run to the line and being overtaken by Slovenia’s Sonja Roman for second place.
England recorded 4mins 14.45secs, with Dobriskey winning in 4.13.60.
