Oxford City athletics star Hannah England is renowned for living life in the fast lane – even though she does not drive a car.
“I didn’t crash,” said the world championship 1500m silver medallist after receiving some driving lessons in Northampton yesterday.
The instruction came courtesy of Alfa Romeo, who have been the official car supplier to UK Athletics since 2006.
“I had some lessons last year, but then I got injured,” said the 24-year-old, who is concentrating her efforts this year on winning an Olympics medal at London 2012.
“I hadn’t had a lesson for about ten months, it was quite nerve-wracking,” she added.
“I have found it one of the most stressful things to do, but it was OK.”
