OXFORDSHIRE head into their final Unicorns Counties T20 Competition games against Berkshire looking to end their campaign on a high.

The side have yet to record a victory in Group 2 following defeats to Herefordshire, Shropshire and Buckinghamshire.

But captain Jonny Cater is calling on his side to show improvement.

He said: “We’ve found it challenging apart from the first game of the season when we came two runs short of winning.

“I think it’s now up to our lads to show a bit more tactical awareness in knowing their games and what to do at certain points.

“We’re a young side, but I think we can perform better than we have done.

“It’s a good opportunity this weekend, we’re playing a good side, but the thing about 20-20 cricket is it only takes one person to perform with bat and ball to win a game.”

They head to Falkland CC, near Newbury, on Sunday, with a much-changed team.

Batsman Chris Watling, seamers Leo Bethell and Lawrence Brock, and spinner Joe Thomas all return after being unavailable to face Bucks last week.

Jordan Garrett, contracted with Gloucestershire, makes his debut in the format.

But Richard Kaufman, Harry Smith, Joe Butcher and Brad Taylor are all unavailable.
