WITNEY Swifts continued their 100 per cent start to the OCA League Division 2 campaign with a seven-wicket win against visitors Wootton & Boars Hill.

George Seacole took 3-25 to help to restrict Wootton to 158-6 in a game reduced to 33 overs a side.

Seacole then top-scored with 55 and Charlie Fisher hit 44, steering Swifts to 160-3.

Westcott defeated hosts Chipping Norton by nine runs in a game of 35 overs per side.

Tanveer Hussain (60no) helped Westcott to 176-3.

Chippy got close, thanks largely to 77 from Dave Brassett, but Waqas Ur-Rehman took 4-28 as the hosts finished just short on 167-9.

Wantage beat visitors Chadlington by five wickets on the target score method (TSM).

Chadlington posted 172-6, James Stoddart hitting 58 and Matthew North 51.

Wantage’s target was set at 121 off a reduced 25 overs, which they reached in the 18th over, Barry Martin hitting 73 not out.

Yarnton & Cowley picked up their first Division 1 victory as they beat Great Horwood by four wickets on TSM.

Horwood posted 135-5, Sam Willett hitting 45 and Dale Armitage 41.

After a delay, Yarnton’s revised target was set at 101 off 25 overs, which they reached with three balls to spare.

Hanborough went top of Division 3 with a seven-wicket win over visitors Kidlington.

After restricting Kidlington to 127-4 in 27 overs, Matthew Neilsen (40no) and Aston Leach (36no) led Hanborough to 130-3.

Rakesh Nambiar took six wickets for Risinghurst, but finished on the losing side as Fringford ran out three-wicket victors in a match of 40 overs per side.

In reply to Risinghurst’s 117-7, Shahin Ali struck 53 to lead Fringford to 118-7, despite a brilliant 6-31 from Nambiar.

Michael Ramsdale’s 69 not out helped Middleton Cheney to 160-8, before George Reed (4-9), Josh Nadin (3-6) and Sam Hanson (3-23) skittled Watlington out for 44.

Robbie Nicholson was at it again as he led Combe to a nine-wicket win at Hailey & West Witney in Division 5.

The home side were restricted to 103-8 as Dave Gardner took 4-38 and Julian Chaundy 3-20.

Nicholson, who smashed a double-century last week, struck 72 not out to lead Combe to 104-1.

Radley beat hosts Steventon by nine wickets.

Rezwan Rana (3-15) and Richard Cook (3-19) shone as Steventon were shot out for 96.

Following a rain break, Radley’s target was 72 off 28 overs, and they eased home with Basharat Rana finishing 39 not out.

Just one game reached a conclusion in Division 4, where Dorchester beat visitors Bampton by six wickets on the target score method (TSM).

JJ Cooper took 3-36 as Bampton were restricted to 179-9, Adrian Harris top-scoring with 68.

The heavens opened at tea, meaning Dorchester were set a target of 121 off 25 overs.

Thanks to Adrian Redhead’s 58 not out and 35 not out from Ali Line, Dorchester reached 121-4 for victory.

The entire Division 6 programme was washed out, while in Division 7, Eynsham 2nd picked up their first win as they dodged the heavy showers.

Star of the show in their home clash with Yarnton & Cowley was Stephen Cooper, who took 6-26 as Yarnton were bowled out for 85, in pursuit of Eynsham’s 131-7.

In Division 8 North, Chadlington ran out seven-wicket winners at home to Hook Norton 2nd.

Veteran Glenn McCallum took 3-15 to help restrict Hooky to 111-7, before Liam Gilbert struck 43 not out as Chadlington eased in at 112-3.

Letcombe’s Danny Taylor was the star of the show as his five-wicket haul helped his side to a 48-run win against visitors Steventon 2nd.

Letcombe posted 106-5 in their rain-affected match, Chris Bennett taking 3-20.

Taylor then claimed 5-14 as Steventon were bowled out for 58 in their reply.
