BEN Taunton proved the star of the show as Aston Rowant 3rd recorded a six-wicket victory at Challow & Childrey 2nd in Cherwell League Division 6.

Taunton returned figures of 6-51 and Tim Foster 3-25 as Challow were bowled out for 162, Harry Whitehead top-scoring with 54 not out.

Sam Lyons then hit 70 not out to steer Rowant to an easy victory at 166-4.

Rustam Rabani’s six wickets helped Oxford & Bletchingdon Nondescripts 2nd to a five-wicket win against visitors Great & Little Tew 3rd.

Rabani took 6-32 to skittle Tew for just 91, and then Nondies eased to 94-5 in the 26th over.

In Division 8, Viraj Perera struck an unbeaten century to help Didcot 3rd to a seven-wicket victory at Shipton-under-Wychwood 3rd.

Shipton were bowled out for 220, Justin Hemming top-scoring with 79.

But Didcot had no problems chasing the target, Perera hitting 104 not out and Paul Costello 64 to steer Didcot to 224-4.

In Division 10, there was a tie between Didcot 4th and Abingdon Vale 4th.

Vale made 157-9 in their 45 overs, Chris Strange taking 4-41 and Paul Rallings top-scoring with 40 for Vale.

Didcot reached 157-9, before No 11 Fred Bradshaw was stumped to leave honours even.
