FREDDIE Smith and James Coles rewrote the record books with a remarkable double-century stand for Oxfordshire Under 14s against Cornwall at Faringdon.

The partnership paved the way for a mammoth 263-run victory for the hosts in their one-sided ECB Cup Group 3 clash.

Smith (119) and Coles (93) put on 223 for the first wicket.

William Hammersley (56) and Luke Charlesworth (39) maintained the high-scoring rate as Oxon reached a daunting 336-6 from their 50 overs.

The home team bowled out Cornwall for just 73, Ethan Davie, Joseph Elliot and Luke Charlesworth each taking two wicket, while there were two run outs.

Oxfordshire Under 15s won by 119 runs in their ECB County Cup Group 4B match away to the Isle of Wight.

Oxon scored 215, thanks to opener Luke Maslen (79) and Prav Chahal (34).

The hosts were soon 20-4 and made only 96, the damage being done by Harry Startin (4-15) and Cameron King (3-7).

But Oxon then lost by 35 runs to Dorset at Magdalen College School.

The visitors posted 187-9 from their 50 overs, Startin taking 3-37, but Oxon managed only 152, Oliver Shaw top-scoring with 35.

Despite an fine opening stand between Charlie Turner (39) and Dylan Driscoll (56), Oxfordshire Under 12s could muster only 138 in their friendly against Hampshire at Kingston Bagpuize.

The visitors edged home by three wickets in the 36th over, with Cian Gerber returning 3-13 for Oxon.

In another friendly, Oxfordshire Under 11s lost by 17 runs to Wiltshire at Goatacre.

The hosts made 162, both Max Bassett and Kalan Niyarepola returning 2-19.

While Ted Phillips (38) and Jacob Townsend (36no) were at the crease, Oxon had a chance but they were eventually all out for 145.

l THERE were mixed fortunes for Oxfordshire Girls Under 17s in the ECB County Championship T20 at Newport, Wales.

In their first match against Northants, Oxon recovered from 26-5 to post 121-6 from their 20 overs thanks to Rachael Potter’s 52.

Charlotte Noble (3-10) and Jacqui Mayho, who picked up two wickets for one run in two overs, restricted their rivals to 69-9.

Oxon then managed only 59 against Wales, who won by four wickets, despite some excellent bowling from Noble (3-12) and Potter (2-16).

Oxfordshire Under 13s lost to Warwickshire in their County League match at Minster Lovell, which was affected by rain.

Abi Norgrove (46) led Oxon to 125-8, but the visitors passed the amended target of 59 for eight wickets.

Oxfordshire Under 11s suffered two friendly defeats.

Hampshire made 172-8 at Hursley Park, despite fine spells from Oona McMaster (3-11), Masie Hodgkinson (2-9) and Emma Benson (2-10), but Oxon made only 58.

Oxon then lost by 49 runs to Bucks at Holmer Green.

Aimme Diab took 3-12 as Bucks made 120, but Oxon were dismissed for 49.

OXFORDSHIRE Over 50s are really flying after recording two more wins in Group 4 of the ECB Championship.

The first of these came against Warwickshire at Oxford Downs.

Choosing to bat, Oxon posted 196-7 from their 45 overs, with consistent displays led by skipper Darryl Woods (33).

Warwickshire were in with a chance, but once a key stand was broken, wickets tumbled and they were all out for 154.

Oxon made it three out of three with a 114-run success over Herefordshire at Eastnor.

Russell Hayes (81) and Nick Moorman (75) put on 100 for the first Oxon wicket in an hour.

Woods added 35 as Oxon finished on 264-6.

Keith Arnold 3-26 and Sean Miller 2-16 reduced Herefordshire to 45-5 after 20 overs and they finished on 150-9.

Despite losing three players to the A side, Oxfordshire Over 50s B trounced Bedfordshire by ten wickets in their Southern Counties Championship clash at the University College ground.

Chris Panter (4-12) and Stuart Bullen excelled as the visitors laboured to 91 all out in the 42nd over.

Making their first appearances this season, Ian Harris (44no) and Jonny Atkins (31no) wasted little time in knocking off the 92 runs required in just 18.4 overs.
