OXFORD City had an afternoon to forget away to Slough in the Vanarama National League South.

Mark Jones’s side fell to a disappointing 2-0 defeat and were forced to play the second half with ten men following Joe Oastler’s dismissal just before the break.

A James Dobson strike and a Reece Fleet own goal gave the hosts victory.

The opener came from the penalty spot on 15 minutes after Matty Stevens was fouled by goalkeeper Craig King.

Dobson made no mistake from 12 yards.

City’s hopes of getting back into the game were dashed right on the stroke of half-time.

Skipper Oastler, the last man, brought down Stevens and was promptly given his marching orders.

Slough made the points safe on the hour-mark.

A corner was delivered to the far post, where it hit the helpless Fleet, who could do nothing other than watch the ball head into his own net.
