OXFORD City boss Mark Jones wants to harness the experiences of last season as they prepare to host Dartford in tomorrow’s Emirates FA Cup third qualifying round tie at Court Place Farm.

The Vanarama National League South side won four games before losing out in stoppage-time to then Sky Bet League Two leaders Notts County ten months ago.

And Jones believes the memories of their historic run to the second round should be just the spur his players need as they look to emulate that.

He said: “The FA Cup is massive for clubs at this level, because of the obvious financial rewards there are.

“But it’s more than that.

“We really want to replicate last season’s run, not just for the supporters, but for the whole club.

“Last year was a really enjoyable experience, and the players and staff who are still here are keen to repeat that.”

Jones admits the draw could have been kinder to City.

Although at home, they welcome a Dartford side that have had the wood over them in recent times, the Kent side doing the double last season.

“We’d ideally look to avoid teams from our own league in the early rounds, but it is what it is,” said Jones.

“Our home record hasn’t been bad this year, and tomorrow is a game we can all look forward to.”

Jones is set to add Bobson Bawling to his quad, with the wide player joining on loan from Torquay United.

The Devon side have given their blessing for the midfielder to play in the Cup.

Jones believes his signing will give them more options.

He said: “At times, we’ve definitely lacked a bit of natural width in our play, and Bobson will be a useful addition to the side.

“He caused us problems when he played against us for Torquay earlier in the season, he’s a natural winger with pace, and provides us with some attributes that will give us a good outlet.”

Udoka Godwin-Malife is set to return from illness, but Eddie Jones (dead leg) is a doubt.

Jones is determined to arrest his side’s slide in form after one victory in five games last month.

“There’s no question we had a poor September,” he said.

“Performances have been encouraging, but results have not been good enough.

“Ideally we’d like to be going in to tomorrow in form.

“But I felt we finished the Hemel game last week really strongly, and I’d hope to take that in to the Dartford game.”
