EDDIE Pepperell enjoyed an excellent second day at the Omega Dubai Desert Classic.
The golfer from Abingdon carded a five-under-par 67 at the Emirates Golf Club.
It catapulted him from outside the top 70 after a level par opening round, to a share of 40th, seven shots behind leaders Lucas Herbert and Bryson Dechambeau.
Pepperell needed birdies at the final two holes on Thursday just to get back to level par for the tournament.
Playing the back nine first on day two, he birdied at the tenth and 13th, before once again picking up shots at the 17th and 18th.
It saw him reach the turn four-under.
Another birdie at the third, coupled with a blemish-free round, completed the Frilford Heath member's superb display.
