EDDIE Pepperell has work to do on Friday if he is to make the weekend at golf’s Czech Masters.
The 28-year-old birdied the first hole, but dropped shots at the second, fifth and eighth.
He could only pull one shot back after the turn, to finish on a one-over-par total of 73 – eight shots off the lead.
But Tadmarton Heath’s Liam Robinson had a better day as he looked to make the most of a rare appearance on the European Tour.
While he was three-over at the turn, the world No 2070, hit back with five birdies on the back nine to card a two-under-par round of 70.
Pepperell’s second round begins at 7.05am (BST) on Friday, while Robinson tees off at 12.25pm.
