Ferguson then teamed up with Curelli to claim back-to-back doubles titles, after winning last month’s Penny & Sinclair Championships, beating Berkshire’s Gregor Webster and Matthew Bates 4-2, 4-2.

As a result, he has moved back into the top 40 for his age group.

Victory for Virgin Active at Cholsey will seal the title.
