OXFORDSHIRE’S women have secured successive promotions in the Over 35s Inter-Counties Championships.
With an opening 4-1 victory against Derbyshire and clean sweeps against Notts and Suffolk, Oxon earned a place in Division 3 at Eastbourne next season.
Their winning team was Kaye Barrett, Lizzie Coulson, Mandy Nall, Esther Symmonds and Imogen Wyatt.
KRISHAN Badiani was the only Oxfordshire player to make it through to the main draw of the County event at HSBC Road to Wimbledon, where he lost in the last 16 to Elkon Dillon 6-3, 6-2 from Berkshire.
In the doubles, Badiani also reached the last 16 of the doubles with partner Ethan McClellan.
HENLEY teenager Harrison Ridge won three tie breaks in a row to win the men’s event at the Yonex White Horse Abingdon Open.
Ridge won the semi-final 7-6, 7-6 against fourth seed Alex Chan, before beating top-seed Alex Juniper 7-6, 6-1 in the final.
