CORONATION Street fans can win a meeting with one of the soap's most popular characters, thanks to a competition run by the Banbury Cake and the town's Christmas Lights Festival committee.

Four readers can spend time with actor Andy Whyment, who plays The Street's dim Kirk Sutherland. His favourite fellow actor in the show, is Bruce Jones who plays Les Battersby.

Whyment said: "Bruce is very funny and makes me laugh all the time."

Whyment will be in Banbury on Sunday November 26 to switch on the Christmas Lights after an afternoon of fun and entertainment, and he has agreed to meet four lucky winners and their family or friends (maximum four people per group).

Competition winners will be invited into Banbury town hall to spend 10 minutes talking to, and having photographs taken with, the star.

To win, all you have to do is to read the feature on Whyment, and answer the following question: Who makes Andy Whyment laugh?

Answers can be posted to Corrie, Banbury Cake, 62/63 High Street, Banbury, OX16 5JJ, or e-mailed to banburycake@nqo.com The closing date for postal and e-mail entries is midday on Friday November 24, but entries can be submitted by hand at the Banbury Cake stall at the Christmas Lights Festival on Sunday 26th. Closing time for entries there will be 2pm using the town hall clock.

The first four correct entries drawn from the box by Whyment himself, on stage at the festival, at 2.15pm will win, subject to the following condition.

Entrants must be at the draw to claim their prize. Anyone who does not identify themselves when their name is announced will forfeit the prize and another name will be drawn. Once the replacement winner has been drawn and claimed, that name will stand, whether or not the earlier winner arrives later, and no consolation prize will be given. You have to be there to win.

Winners will meet Whyment in order of being drawn, starting at 2.30pm The organisers' decision in all matters is final. Please include an address on e-mails.
