THE finalists have now been chosen for this year’s Miss Oxford contest and Daniella Luan, a former Miss Oxford and Miss England, will be one of the judges.

Miss Luan Timms, from Oxford, who became Miss England 2002 and represented her country in Miss World, will be a judge at the Oxfordshire heat of Miss England on Friday, May 22.

Mrs Timms is now a model and mother-of-two and will be joining the Miss England panel to select the new Miss Oxford at Browns restaurant.

Angie Beasley, the Miss England director, said: “There are some great entries from the Oxfordshire area this year and I have been really impressed — it should be interesting on the day to see who is chosen as Miss Oxford.

“Daniella will be joined by Georgia Horsley, who was Miss England in 2007, so there will be two former Miss England winners at Browns.”

One of the 18 contestants is Imarah Radix, who has just graduated from Oxford Brookes University with a degree in international relations and politics.

She said: “In the holidays I volunteer at the Red Cross orphanage in Guyana, South America, and in my spare time I enjoy latin dance, scuba diving, singing and modelling.”

A public vote will choose the top seven who will then be invited to Philosophy hair salon in Oxford to have their hair styled before the judging.

The final interview round will take place at Browns Bar and Brasserie Oxford in Woodstock Road, from 10am, before a winner is chosen at noon.

The judges will include Ms Beasley, and head stylist from Philosophy, Luke Anderson.

The current Miss Oxford, Lyndsay Fayle, who represented Oxford in last year’s Miss England event, will also be attending the final.
