The Oxford branch of electrical retailer Comet has closed its doors for the final time after administrators failed to find a buyer for the stricken chain.
A total of 20 staff have lost their jobs at the outlet which called in administrators last month. The closure comes exactly five years after the store moved to bigger premises at the Oxford Retail Park on Botley Road.
It follows the closure of the store at the Banbury Cross Retail Park, Banbury on December 9 with the loss of 15 jobs.
Comet, which was founded in Hull in 1933, is one of the biggest high street failures since the demise of Woolworths in 2008.
The chain has racked up losses of £31m in the last five months after being hit by weak trading conditions and competition from online rivals.
