ILLEGAL alcohol and tobacco were seized in a crackdown on fraud across Oxfordshire.
The smuggled or counterfeit goods were found during raids by officers from HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) and Trading Standards in Banbury and Oxford.
A operation on Friday and Saturday saw 42,853 cigarettes, 22.15kg of tobacco and 20 bottles of spirits seized. In total they are worth an estimated £14,793 in evaded duty and VAT and were taken from 12 businesses and homes.
