Silent movie show sells out
10:30am Friday 21st December 2012 in News
A fundraising event tonight at the Ultimate Picture Palace cinema in aid of the Cowley Road Carnival has sold out.
More than 100 tickets were snapped up for Silent Night, during which two of Charlie Chaplin’s short films, The Pawn Shop and The Immigrant will be screened, the latter with a live soundtrack.
All proceeds from Silent Night will go to help cover the costs of staging next year’s carnival.
A previous fundraising event, planned for the 02 Academy earlier this month, was cancelled due to poor ticket sales.
