REFERRING to (ViewPoints, February 11), the chairman of Cyclox, James Styring, should rename it ‘Cyclops’ the one-eyed giant that only looks ahead, as for his ridiculous comments that cycling through red lights is a harmless crime is stupid.

The only reason there are few accidents is because the motorists have to brake or swerve to miss these fools, thus avoiding serious injury to them.

As for his comments on drink driving and mobile phone use (agreed dangerous) when caught, they are heavily penalised.

The cyclist breaks every rule in the book and gets off scot-free.
