A FAMILY still struggling to come to terms with the death of a son is urging people to back a charity day in his name.

Popular barman Ian North, 22, was found dead at his Bicester home in January 2011 after failing to turn up for work. A post mortem confirmed he died of meningitis.

Now his family, mum Trish Baughan, 46, of Warwick Court, Bicester, soldier brother Thomas, 22, and sister, Anna, 17, are backing the event on Saturday, March 2, at the White Horse Pub, in Churchill Road.

The event has been organised by Mrs Baughan’s friends Paul Earnshaw and Tina Massey, landlords of the White Horse Pub.

And Ms Massey, 39, will also run the London Marathon in aid of the Meningitis Trust.

Ms Massey said: “I joined the gym last year and found I really enjoyed running the most."

At the fun day there will be two running machines, one for Ms Massey to complete a half-marathon, and a second one for people to join in and keep her company. There will also be a bouncy castle, games, and face painting.
