POLICE have cordoned off a Jericho street after reports of a man threatening to jump off a fourth floor flat.

Juxon Street is currently sealed off from both ends with officers and the ambulance service in attendance.

Eyewitnesses at the scene have reported a man shouting from the balcony and there have been reports that he may have been threatening to harm himself.

Terry Walpole, a Juxon Street resident :"I've lived here for 28 years and never seen or heard anything like a suicide attempt or anything like this. It's shocking and I hope it ends well. You have to be pretty well off to live in those flats so it can't be someone with utterly nothing left. I hope it ends ok."

Robin Green, 32, of Juxon Street added: "It's such a quiet area you dont ever expect anything like this to happen. Everyone seems to be stunned. Let's hope it all gets sorted out"

Residents of the Castle Mill flats have been asked to leave while police deal with the incident.
