PRIMARY school children across Oxfordshire are counting down to the launch of a new festival.

More than 500 pupils from 10 schools have signed up for the Ffennell Festival.

Children will be able to try their hands at various outdoor activities including building and racing mini cars.

Organisers were at Hill End Centre in Farmoor ahead of the two-day festival which will be held there on June 7 and 8.

Louis Goodall, 9, from Willow Croft Primary School , – said: “I enjoyed building the car and would like to become an engineer.”

The Oxfordshire County Council-funded festival is in its first year. The aim is to introduce children to new skills and activities and have a fun day out. The public are also invited to take part. Email rob@engineeringyourfuture.com to get involved.
