I FIND it very difficult to accept the arguments consistently put forward that this country will somehow “lose” its trade and exports to the EU if we leave, due to some complicated restrictive trading agreements.

Take a look on our roads, take a look round any retail outlets, take a look around the food stalls in any supermarket.

There is a profusion of white goods, electronic appliances and gadgets, fruit, vegetables and tinned goods from all over the world.

How many of these doom-mongers have Samsung mobiles, Apple iPads, eat produce from Africa, drink wine from California and Australia, drive cars from Korea, wear clothes made in India or eat prawns from Thailand in a nice restaurant?

The list is almost endless. There are businesses from countries all around the world that seem to trade very well with the EU.

Are we really saying that the businesses and professional people of this country are incapable of trading and exporting British products “anywhere” in the world.

There may be good reasons to remain part of the EU but this scaremongering does the cause no good at all.
