The office of Police and Crime Commissioner Anthony Stansfeld has clarified the salary of his support officer.
An advert for the job, which includes driving Mr Stansfeld and taking minutes at meetings, said it was a full-time role paid £19,700 per year.
But Mr Stansfeld’s office said because the officer only works three days a week he is paid £12,000.
Mr Stansfeld yesterday denied using a “sham” office to claim more for travel expenses and defended the use of the support officer.
