SO, Anthony Stansfeld thinks that, at £85,000 per annum plus expenses, he’s “extremely good value for money”. “If I could hire myself I would charge a lot more”, he says.
Very few people in the Thames Valley Police area can boast so brazenly, simply because many of the people Mr Stansfeld is paid to represent in police matters are struggling to survive on miserable wages, salaries and dwindling benefits, and with rising costs.
Does Mr Stansfeld need reminding that he’s a public servant?
As for his travel arrangements and allowances, why on earth hasn’t he relocated to Kidlington, where the Thames Valley Police headquarters is located?
Then, on days when he doesn’t have to travel hither and thither in the Thames Valley, he could walk or cycle to work? “Charge a lot more” Stansfeld is what the Thames Valley Police Commissioner should henceforth be called, just to remind people of his humility and commitment to public service.
