THREE men from Abingdon were arrested after an alleged bout of “road rage” in which a motorist was assaulted.

Police said a driver and two passengers travelling in a grey Citroen Saxo got into an argument with the driver of a silver Audi A4 in front of John Mason School in Wootton Road, Abingdon, shortly before 6pm on Tuesday.

A 20-year-old was arrested on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm, possessing an offensive weapon in a public place and assaulting a police constable.

Another 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm, possessing an offensive weapon in a public place, and possession of a class B drug.

They were both were released on bail until June 16.

A 21-year-old man from Abingdon was also arrested but released without any further action being taken against him.

Thames Valley Police spokeswoman Rebecca Webber said: “Police were called at 6pm to reports of a road rage incident outside the John Mason School in Wootton Road, Abingdon.

“Police attended and it appears the occupants of a silver Audi A4 and a grey Citroen Saxo had got into an altercation.”
