The number of jobless signing on in Oxfordshire has fallen to its lowest level this year.
According to figures produced by the Office of National Statistics, 6,828 people were claiming Jobseekers’ Allowance in the county in April, a drop of 262 on the previous month and the lowest figure since last December.
Nationally, the claimant count fell by 45,892 to 1,538,576 but total unemployment, including those not claiming benefits, rose by 15,000 to 2.52m.
