A CLASSIC story of good and evil is getting an extended run at Blackwells Bookshop in Oxford after proving a big success.

Creation Theatre’s Jekyll and Hyde will run for another week thanks to booming ticket sales.

The company is putting on five more shows, with the production now ending on Saturday, July 13.

The one-man show has been running since June 8 in Blackwell’s famous Norrington Room, which has previously seen popular productions by Creation such as Doctor Faustus in 2011.

Creation Theatre chief executive Lucy Askew said: “We’ve been overwhelmed by the response to this show.

“After such a difficult 2012 it’s incredible to see the first two weeks of this show sell out so quickly.”

Michael Palmer is taking on all seven roles in one hour, said: “It’s such an exciting space to perform in – some of the audience are inches away from me, and when I’m playing Hyde that adds a certain tension to the room.”

Jekyll & Hyde will be staged from Tuesday to Saturday until July 13.

Tickets cost £10 and £16 and are available from 01865 766266 or creationtheatre.co.uk
