A FEW weeks ago, on an X90 entering London Road, after the Hamburger, the gentleman I sat next to had what I can only describe as a look of alarm when we hit the bus lane surface.

I explained it was the road surface, and not the bus falling apart, and he thanked me with a smile. To relieve troubled passengers I would like to suggest that the coach drivers give an announcement as they approach the roundabout that we are about to hit a bumpy piece of road rather than there being any problem with the bus – a bit like the warning of turbulence on a plane.
