THE body of the biggest private donor to Oxford University in its 900-year history has been found floating in the sea off a Bermudian island.
In the last eight years James Martin has given £150m to Oxford University, which remains the largest single gift to any university in Britain.
The money was put towards establishing the Oxford Martin School which is designed towards addressing the most pressing global challenges of the 21st century.
On Monday evening a kayaker found his body floating in the Great Sound off Agar’s Island, which he had owned since 1997.
And on Tuesday the Bermuda Police Service formally identified his body.
