A LESSON for us all?

On Wednesday, June 19, I enjoyed the wonderful celebration of different lands and cultures, organised and presented by the children and teaching staff at Wood Farm Primary School, Oxford.

These children, of many different origins and many languages between them, learn together, work together, play together and co-exist in friendship. They are an excellent and inspiring example for us adults and we could learn much from them.

The children, the very committed teaching staff and headteacher are inspirational, aiming high professionally in terms of education and socialisation, making it a very special place to be.

As an Arch (reading) volunteer I feel both privileged and impressed to see Wood Farm Primary School in action.

At the age of ten in 1953 I was one of the first Wood Farm residents and now, having returned from abroad with a long teaching career behind me, I am a resident again. It is a joy to see the school and its children grow and blossom in this very caring and committed environment.
