An Audi convertible which once belonged to Princess Diana sold for £36,500 at an auction on Saturday at Blenheim Palace.
The 2.3E car, above, which Princess Diana is pictured getting into after a gym session in 1994, attracted interest from Norway, India, Australia and America but eventually sold to a UK bidder.
A 1965 Austin Mini Cooper which belonged to Beatles’ manager Brian Epstein was sold for £27,000.
Auction manager Nick Wiles, of Coys classic car specialists in Kensington, said: “The Audi only had 21,000 miles on the clock and was as good as new. On a fine day the owner might go for a drive in it, but it is basically a collector’s item.”
