Forensic scientist Roland Wessling is warning about the dangers of taking charcoal barbecues into tents following the death of his partner on a camping holiday.

Hazel Woodhams, 30, died of carbon monoxide poisoning she and Mr Wessling brought the barbecue inside their tent overnight.

The 42-year-old and the Gas Safe Register are now urging people to understand the dangers of carbon monoxide while on holiday.

Mr Wessling, who lives in Iffley Road, also suffered carbon monoxide poisoning on the holiday in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, in July 2011, and was treated in intensive care.
