THE Wild West arrived in Kidlington in 1981 at a Country and Western fete at Exeter Hall.
Apart from a Wild West show, the crowds were treated to static displays and sideshows, including target shooting by members of the Air Training Corps.
The fete, part of Kidlington’s contribution to the Year of the Disabled, had begun with a parade of 20 floats around the village, including this rickshaw from the Scouts.
Two country and western dances were held and proceeds from the weekend were given to local disabled people.
