A KIDS club celebrated its 20th anniversary with a magician, face painting and party food last week.

The Cool Kids Club, based next to Wheatley Primary School, in Littleworth Road, opened its doors in 2003.

More than 70 children and parents gathered to celebrate and herald in the next 20 years.

Eight-year-old Abi Taylor said: “I really like the kids club because you get to go outside and do lots of arts and crafts. The best part of the party was the magic show because it was really exciting and we made sweets.”

Cool Kids Club committee member and mum-of-two Paula Hood said: “It has gone from strength to strength in the last year.

“I can go to work knowing my children are happy and well looked after, and that is so important. You need to know your kids are safe and happy so you can concentrate on your job.

“The kids absolutely loved the magic show. They sat mesmerised for 45 minutes.”
