JACK FM is one of 800 customers without power in the Boars Hill area this evening.
People in North Hinksey, Cumnor, Wootton, Dry Sandford and Besselsleigh are also affected.
Southern Electric has said it does not know what has caused the fault but engineers are currently in the area trying to determine the cause and restore power.
Oxfordshire radio station Jack FM has a transmitter on Boars Hill which serves the Oxford area, and which has been cut off by the fault.
However it has another transmitter in Bicester which is still functioning. Power went down at about 6.30pm.
