Council house tenants looking to move to avoid the “bedroom tax” will meet others at an event today.
The city council will host its second “mutual exchange speed dating” event at the Town Hall from 2pm to 4pm.
Under the Government’s social sector size criteria, or “bedroom tax”, tenants face a cut in benefits if they have rooms which are deemed to be surplus.
At the events, council house and housing association tenants meet others in the same situation and can arrange to swap homes if it will save them money.
