THE annual Wychwood Forest Fair was held on Sunday.
It took place at Foxburrow Wood near Witney to raise money to plant trees at the site, as well as for conservation projects across west Oxfordshire.
The family event, which traces its roots back to the 18th century, featured Morris dancers, a storyteller, Aunt Sally events, ferret racing, archery, a coconut shy, animals and a funfair as well as a wood-working demonstration by Ray Borrett.
Campaigners aim to restore the wood by planting thousands of trees at the site over several years.
Ollie Ball, seven, from Milton-under-Wychwood was one of those who took part in the archery. He said: “I had a good time. I watched the archery and had a go. I enjoyed the archery, but I also enjoyed the ferret racing.”
Finlay Stone, eight, of Stonesfield, said: “I did some archery and I saw a snake on the zoo bus. It was fun.”
