HARRY Beach was among food lovers who munched on some top-quality local produce at the Thame Food Festival.

The seven-year-old, pictured with a deep-fried potato twist, joined about 25,000 people at Saturday’s annual event in the town centre.

Harry’s mum Clare, who lives in Buckinghamshire, said he had enjoyed the potato twist.

She added: “I’d never seen anything like it before.”

The town’s sixth food festival featured hundreds of producers from local bakers to celebrity chef Raymond Blanc.

Spokeswoman Sarah Pracey said the 150-plus stallholders had sold out by lunchtime.

She said: “It was a lovely day out and we were lucky with weather. There was a great atmosphere.

“The whole town centre was packed all day. It was amazing.”

Radio 2 presenter Ken Bruce compered a cookery demonstration.

Ms Pracey added: “Next year we will have more buses because it was very popular.”

She said of the event: “It has just captured everyone’s imagination. It is good celebration of local food and drink.”
