Members of the Cholsey branch decided they wanted to hear all about beekeeping.
So in 1954, they arranged a visit to Berkshire County Council’s rural domestic economy centre at Home Acres, Marcham, near Abingdon, where Mr G R Hawthorne explained the intricacies of the hobby.
