A father grabbed his son around the throat after drinking seven pints of lager, a court heard.
Peter Wright, 56, had been out drinking with colleagues and began arguing with his wife when he arrived home.
Oxford Magistrates’ Court was told his 19-year-old son Stephen came downstairs and Wright grabbed him around his throat and pushed him against a wall.
Wright, of Plover Drive, Blackbird Leys, admitted assault. He was given a 24-month conditional discharge, ordered to pay £85 costs and a £15 victims’ surcharge.
