A TEENAGER has appeared in court charged with grievous bodily harm after a fight between two groups at the weekend.
The 17-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, had been remanded in custody, but magistrates’ granted him bail yesterday.
The offence is alleged to have occurred outside the Chicken Hut in Between Towns Road, Cowley, at about 11pm on Saturday.
The 33-year-old victim was taken to hospital with a fractured eye socket and a laceration to the face. Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses to the incident.
The 17-year-old was handed bail with the conditions of a curfew, to live and sleep at his family home, and to not contact the witnesses in the case. He is due to appear in youth court at Oxford Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.
