WORDS of wisdom were traded between schoolchildren and elderly care home residents in Witney.

The skills switch saw children teaching residents how to use an iPad, and learning knitting and flower arranging from them in return.

Ten students from St Mary’s Infant School, Church Green, and 12 Newlands House Care Home residents came away a little wiser from the swap on Tuesday.

Resident Brenda Mills, 77, said: “I absolutely loved seeing the school kids — I love to see children — and I enjoyed seeing what they could do with their iPads.”

The day was organised as part of UK Older People’s Day.
