HE HAS been named the world’s sexiest movie star but it was business as usual for Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch on the set of his new film in Bicester.

Scenes for The Imitation Game are being shot at the former RAF Bicester base this week. Mr Cumberbatch was spotted chatting to directors and producers on Tuesday, while co-star Keira Knightley kept a lower profile.

The Star Trek actor and star of detective drama Sherlock came top in the world’s sexiest movie star poll run by film magazine Empire yesterday.

He beat the likes of American actor Ryan Gosling to claim the title alongside former Oxford schoolgirl Emma Watson.

Mr Cumberbatch was in Bicester playing Second World War maths genius Alan Turing, the mastermind behind British success in cracking German secret codes.

Former airbase RAF Bicester became Bicester Heritage Limited this year.

Managing director Daniiel Geoghegan said: “After 40 years of no or little use it is good to have them here.

“It is terrific to have any interest in the site but particularly when people are trying to recreate the history it was involved in.

“It is a great honour and I’m looking forward to seeing the outcome.”
