NUDE angels and cherubs are the more traditional subjects of church art.
But a modern-day woman is now adorning the walls of St Mary and St Nicholas Church in Littlemore this week as part of its Harvest of Talents art exhibition.
Among the pieces on show until October 20 is a multimedia work by 19-year-old Littlemore resident Ellie Bower.
Her dad Tom Bower has put her artwork in pride of place in the church in Sandford Road.
He said: “It’s a brilliant mixture of art in the exhibition, from knitted figures to really cool abstracts, it is fantastic.”
About 30 pieces are decorating the walls for the show.
Vicar the Rev Margreet Armitstead said: “As it’s the harvest season, we harvest the great community talent Littlemore has.”
The church is open at weekends from 10am until 3pm and most weekday mornings.
