Part of a major road in the city centre will closed for five weeks for resurfacing and repair work.
A section of St Aldate’s will be closed in both directions from a point just north of the junction with Thames Street to just south of the junction with Speedwell Street, with traffic diverted via Thames Street and Speedwell Street.
Temporary bus stops will be on Thames Street for northbound buses and St Aldate’s outside the entrance to Christ Church Meadow for southbound buses.
Access will be maintained for the emergency services and residents in the affected area.
Oxfordshire County Council spokesman Owen Morton said: “We will seek to keep disruption to a minimum and look forward to a much-improved road surface.”
