OXFORD: Experts on former Oxford University don CS Lewis have clashed over whether the Narnia author disliked women.
CS Lewis: A biography author Andrew Wilson told the Cheltenham Literary Festival on Monday that Lewis patronised and had serious issues with women.
He said of the author, who married once, aged 58: “Living with women doesn’t stop you being a misogynist.”
But Planet Narnia author Michael Ward said it was “absurd” to suggest the author “couldn’t cope with women”, The Times reported.
